Biography :

Chris’s career in the semiconductor industry includes prominent technical and marketing/sales positions at Texas Instruments and Intel prior to becoming a Founder of Emosyn, a fabless semiconductor start-up in 2001 conceived by a group of ex Intel executives. Emosyn (the first company to adopt flash memory in smartcards) expanded successfully for 5 years before being acquired by SST, a Technology Licensor to Emosyn. Within SST, Chris initially ran the Emosyn business unit before taking over responsibility for their European Licensing activities.
In 2010, SST was acquired by Microchip, a profitable $4B broad line semiconductor IDM. Within Microchip/SST, Chris has full responsibility for their IP & Technology Licensing activities throughout EMEA, Korea & South America. The last 4 years has seen a strong eco system of Foundries, Design Houses and IDMs developed, forming a significant part of the highly profitable $100M SST w/w Licensing business.
Chris is also a regular speaker / contributor to industry events and gave a keynote address on flash memory design at IPSOC Grenoble in 2013. He is widely known in the smartcard OEM and semiconductor business within Europe.
